ನವಗ್ರಹ ಸ್ತೊತ್ರಮ್

ಜಪಾಕುಸುಮ ಸಂಕಾಶಂ ಕಾಶ್ಯಪೇಯಂ ಮಹಾದ್ಯುತಿಂ ತಮೋರಿಂ ಸರ್ವಪಾಪಘ್ನಂ ಪ್ರಣತೋಸ್ಮಿ ದಿವಾಕರಂ	japAkusuma saMkAshaM kAshyapEyaM mahAdyutiM tamOriM sarvapApaGnaM praNatOsmi divAkaraM
I pray to the Sun (the bright shining one), the day-maker, destroyer of all sins, the enemy of darkness, of great brilliance, the descendent of Kashyapa, the one who shines like the japaa flower (Chinese rose).
ದಧಿಶಂಖ ತುಷಾರಾಭಂ ಕ್ಷೀರೋದಾರ್ಣವ ಸಂಭವಂ ನಮಾಮಿ ಶಶಿನಂ ಸೋಮಂ ಶಂಭೋರ್ಮುಕುಟ ಭೂಷಣಂ	dadhishaMKa tuShArABaM kShIrOdArNava saMBavaM namAmi shashinaM sOmaM shaMBOrmukuTa BUShaNaM
I pray to the Moon (Soma) who shines coolly like curds or a white shell, who arose from the ocean of milk, who has a hare on him, and who is the ornament of Shiva’s crown.
ಧರಣಿಗರ್ಭಸಂಭೂತಂ ವಿದ್ಯುತ್ಕಾಂತಿ ಸಮಪ್ರಭಂ ಕುಮಾರಂ ಶಕ್ತಿಹಸ್ತಂ ಚ ಮಂಗಳಂ ಪ್ರಣಮಾಮ್ಯಹಂ	dharaNigarBasaMBUtaM vidyutkAMti samapraBaM kumAraM shaktihastaM cha maMgaLaM praNamAmyahaM
I pray to Mars (Mangala), born from Earth, who shines with the same brilliance as lightning, the young man who carries a spear in hand.
ಪ್ರಿಯನ್ಗುಕಲಿಕಾಶ್ಯಾಮಂ ರೂಪೇಣಾಪ್ರತಿಮಂ ಬುಧಂ ಸೌಮ್ಯಂ ಸೌಮ್ಯಗುಣೋಪೇತಂ ತಂ ಬುಧಂ ಪ್ರಣಮಾಮ್ಯಹಂ	priyangukalikAshyAmaM rUpENApratimaM budhaM saumyaM saumyaguNOpEtaM taM budhaM praNamAmyahaM
I pray to Mercury (Budha), son of the moon, who is dark like the bud of priyangu flower (millet), of unequalled beauty, gentle and agreeable.
ದೇವಾನಾಂ ಚ ಋಷಿಣಾಂ ಚ ಗುರುಂ ಕಾಂಚನಸನ್ನಿಭಂ ಬುದ್ದಿಭೂತಂ ತ್ರಿಲೋಕೇಶಂ ತಮ್ ನಮಾಮಿ ಬೃಹಸ್ಪತಿಂ	dEvAnAM cha RuShiNAM cha guruM kAMchanasannibhaM buddibhUtaM trilOkEshaM tam namAmi bRuhaspatiM
I pray to Jupiter (Brhaspati), the teacher of gods and rishis, who shines with golden luster, intellect incarnate, the guiding lord of the three worlds.
ಹಿಮಕುಂದ ಮೃಣಾಲಾಭಂ ದೈತ್ಯಾನಾಂ ಪರಮಂ ಗುರುಂ ಸರ್ವಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಪ್ರವಕ್ತಾರಂ ಭಾರ್ಗವಂ ಪ್ರಣಮಾಮ್ಯಹಂ	himakuMda mRuNAlAbhaM daityAnAM paramaM guruM sarvashAstrapravaktAraM bhArgavaM praNamAmyahaM
I pray to Venus (Shukra),  descendant of Bhrigu, the ultimate preceptor of demons, promulgator of all learning (shastras), he who shines white in color like the snow or  jasmine.
ನೀಲಾಂಜನಸಮಾಭಾಸಂ ರವಿಪುತ್ರಂ ಯಮಾಗ್ರಜಂ ಛಾಯಮಾರ್ತಂಡಸಂಭೂತಂ ತಂ ನಮಾಮಿ ಶನೈಶ್ಚರಂ	nIlAMjanasamAbhAsaM raviputraM yamAgrajaM ChAyamArtaMDasaMbhUtaM taM namAmi shanaishcaraM
I pray to Saturn (Shani), the slow moving, born of Shade and Sun, the elder brother of Yama, the offspring of Sun, he who has the appearance of black collyrium (eye ointment).
ಅರ್ಧಕಾಯಂ ಮಹಾವೀರ್ಯಂ ಚಂದ್ರಾದಿತ್ಯವಿಮರ್ದನಂ ಸಿಓಹಿಕಾಗರ್ಭಸಂಭೂತಂ ತಂ ರಾಹುಂ ಪ್ರಣಮಾಮ್ಯಹಂ	ardhakAyaM mahAvIryaM chaMdrAdityavimardanaM siOhikAgarbhasaMbhUtaM taM rAhuM praNamAmyahaM
I pray to Rahu, having half a body and descendant of Simhikaa, one who possess great strength and brave, the eclipser of the Moon and the Sun.
ಪಲಾಶಪುಷ್ಪಸಂಕಾಶಂ ತಾರಕಾಗ್ರಹಮಸ್ತಕಂ ರೌದ್ರಂ ರೌದ್ರಾತ್ಮಕಂ ಘೋರಂ ತಮ್ ಕೇತುಂ ಪ್ರಣಮಾಮ್ಯಹಂ	palAshapuShpasaMkAshaM tArakAgrahamastakaM raudraM raudrAtmakaM GOraM tam kEtuM praNamAmyahaM
I pray to Ketu, who has the appearance of Palaasha flower, the head of stars and planets, fierce and terrifying.
ಇತಿ ವ್ಯಾಸಮುಖೋದ್ಗೀತಂ ಯ: ಪಠೇತ್ ಸುಸಮಾಹಿತ: ದಿವಾವಾ ಯದಿವಾ ರತ್ರೌ ವಿಘ್ನಶಾಂತಿರ್ಭವಿಷ್ಯತಿ	iti vyAsamuKOdgItaM ya: paThEt susamAhita: divAvA yadivA ratrau viGnashAMtirbhaviShyati
Those who read the song sung by VyAsa, will be joyous, sovereign and powerful, and will succeed in appeasing obstacles, occurring by day or by night.
ನರನಾರೀನೃಪಾಣಂ ಚ ಭವೇತ್ ದು:ಸ್ವಪ್ನನಾಶನಂ ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯಮತುಲಂ ತೇಷಾಂ ಆರೋಗ್ಯಂ ಪುಷ್ಟಿವರ್ಧನಂ	naranArInRupANaM cha bhavEt du:svapnanAshanaM aishvaryamatulaM tEShAM ArOgyaM puShTivardhanaM
Whether for men, women, or kings, it brings them destruction of evil, unrivaled sovereignity, freedom from disease, and growth of strength.
ಗೃಹನಕ್ಷತ್ರಜಾ: ಪೀಡಾಸ್ತಸ್ಕರಾಗ್ನಿಸಮುಧ್ಬವಾ: ತಾ: ಸರ್ವಾ: ಪ್ರಶಮಂ ಯಾನ್ತಿ ವ್ಯಾಸೋ ಬ್ರೂತೇ ನ ಸಂಶಯ:	gRuhanakShatrajA: pIDAstaskarAgnisamudhbavA: tA: sarvA: prashamaM yAnti vyAsO brUtE na saMshaya:
All afflictions born of the planets, stars, thieves, or fire will be removed.  Sri Vyasa tells us that there is no doubt about this.
