Leave worldly matters

Atharavnopanishad (Mundakopanishad) says do not spend your time and think too much on worldly matters.  Use that time to think about God “The Almighty – Sri Hari.”

Here the main message is that one should strive to learn more about the “Atman – Brahma.” Do not spend time or act on worldly matters.

Sri Ananda tirtha Bhagavat pada in his Dwadasha stotra says:

There is no other entity in this world other than Sri Hari to praise and sing his glory.  Hence, there is no point in thinking and working for Spouse and Children, for wealth and prosperity, and on material things.  One should earn or take care of the family to the bare necessity and not spend whole time on these worldly matters.  One should apply their mind on to the lotus feet of Sri Hari and meditate upon him.

In another of his works (grantha) Sri Krishnamrutha Maharnava he says spending time and effort on material things/matter is waste of precious time and life.

In another shloka of the same grantha, he warns us:

If a person spends as much time he spends on material matters in thinking of Sri Hari that is enough to take him away from the miseries of Samsar – cycle of birth.

Instead of watching TV, SM, etc, think about Sri Hari and make one’s life fruitful and attain Jeevan Mukti. Thinking on material /worldly matters is waste.
